Parents form a vital part of the school. Woodward has a very active Parents Association (PA). The PA is a liaison for the school community and is made up of a PA Chairperson, Social Chairperson, Fundraising Chairperson, as well as class representatives. The PA sponsors several events such as a musical storyteller and a Sea World presentation as well as the spring auction and an end-of-year family concert. PA Chairpersons act as members of Woodward's Board of Trustees during their term of service to the school.

At Woodward, every child's birthday is celebrated in their respective classroom. The birthday child's parents (and siblings / grandparents) participate in this occasion and traditionally provide cupcakes followed by a personal favorite storybook that is then donated to the classroom. Woodward also welcomes parents to visit their child's classroom to talk about their professions or engage the children in a short activity pertaining to their culture. These lessons are often in the form of a cooking or art project, reading a story, or singing songs.

Current and past Woodward parents continue a long tradition of participation in fundraising to help meet the annual budget with the continued support of the endowment from the Woodward Charitable Foundation.
